Enforcement in connection with the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA)
Decision of the Federal Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) on October 24, 2023
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority HKMA has been cooperating with countries around the world to combat criminal activities such as website fraud, money laundering and terrorist financing. Based on the evidence provided by FINRA and Morgan Bell Law Firm, enforcement proceedings have been officially initiated and the decision has been made as follows:
Consent to freeze the fraudulent syndicate's bank account in Hong Kong, total amount of account: US$62,723,652.23
Accept to refund all transactions on the fraudulent platform to the same cardholder from Oct 24, 2023.
Therefore the refund process is performed by Swissquote Swiss Banking Group, the official Swissquote designated refund platform. The procedure is supervised by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) after verification of identity. Refunds must be made by the victims themselves. The refund process ensures that victims receive their refunds in a secure manner.
